Clock conditioning with 1.57 GHz PLL — what the max frequency means for the signal chain
The LMK04011BISQX/NOPB: The integrated PLL and 1.57 GHz maximum output frequency position this device as a jitter-cleaning clock conditioner for high-speed ADC/DAC sample clocks, SerDes reference paths, or FPGA transceiver reference clocks. The 2:5 input-to-output ratio with differential I/O on both sides means one clean reference can fan out to five destinations without external distribution buffers — saving board space and reducing additive phase noise from separate fanout ICs. Input flexibility across LVCMOS, LVDS, and LVPECL lets the conditioner accept whatever clock source the system already carries — a crystal oscillator, another PLL output, or a backplane-distributed reference. Outputs are 2VPECL and LVPECL, the dominant logic family for driving long PCB traces to remote ADCs or FPGAs at GHz rates.
Operates from a 3.15 V to 3.45 V supply — the standard 3.3 V rail with 150 mV of headroom on each side. Packaged in a 48-WFQFN with exposed pad, supplier device package 48-WQFN 7x7 mm.
