PLL clock conditioner for high-speed timing chains
The Texas Instruments LMK04001BISQX/NOPB is a PLL-based clock conditioner that accepts LVCMOS, LVDS, or LVPECL inputs and delivers cleaned-up LVCMOS, 2VPECL, or LVPECL outputs at frequencies up to 1.57 GHz. It integrates a phase-locked loop with programmable dividers and multipliers, making it suitable for jitter cleaning and frequency synthesis in base station, test equipment, and data converter clocking applications.
The 1.57 GHz maximum output frequency covers the highest-speed serial interfaces and ADC/DAC sample clocks in telecom and instrumentation. The 2:7 input-to-output ratio allows one reference to fan out to seven conditioned clock domains. Differential inputs and outputs are supported on all paths, which preserves signal integrity over board traces longer than a few centimetres at these frequencies.
The part operates from a 3.15 V to 3.45 V supply — a clean 3.3 V rail with less than 5 % ripple.
