48-WFQFN exposed-pad clock conditioner with 1.724GHz PLL
The Texas Instruments LMK03002ISQX/NOPB is a clock conditioner integrating a PLL to clean and distribute a single input clock into four LVPECL outputs at frequencies up to 1.724GHz. Housed in a 48-WFQFN with an exposed pad (7x7 mm), the thermal and ground plane on the PCB directly affect the PLL's phase-noise floor—a solid via array under the pad is non-negotiable for rated jitter performance.
Input flexibility, output fixed to LVPECL
The input stage accepts LVCMOS, LVDS, or LVPECL levels, but the four outputs are LVPECL only—any downstream logic family requires external level translation or AC-coupling. The 1:4 fanout is differential on both sides, meaning each output pair delivers a true complementary clock with controlled edge rates suitable for driving high-speed ADC/DAC or SERDES reference inputs. A divider is present on-chip, but there is no multiplier—the part conditions and fans out a clock, it does not synthesize a higher frequency from a lower reference.
Industrial temperature band and supply tolerance
The supply range is 3.15V to 3.45V—tight enough that supply noise couples directly into the VCO phase noise; a low-noise LDO feeding this rail is standard practice in a jitter-sensitive layout.
