1.296 GHz clock distribution — what the 1:8 fanout buys you
The LMK03000ISQ/NOPB is a Clock Conditioner — not a PLL-based synthesizer — that takes one input (LVCMOS, LVDS, or LVPECL) and distributes it across eight differential outputs (LVDS or LVPECL) at frequencies up to 1.296 GHz. The 1:8 fanout ratio means a single clean reference clock fans to eight destinations on the board without needing a separate distribution buffer for each lane — useful in multi-channel ADC arrays, FPGA banks, or backplane clock trees. Because the part has no internal PLL (PLL = No), it does not multiply or synthesize frequency — it conditions and redistributes the incoming clock, so the output jitter is bounded by the input quality and the device's additive jitter floor.
Signal interface and supply tolerance
Input accepts LVCMOS single-ended or LVDS/LVPECL differential; outputs are differential LVDS or LVPECL — the same output pair can be configured for either standard, which simplifies BOM consolidation when the board uses both logic families. Supply range is 3.15 V to 3.45 V — a tight 300 mV window. The 48-WQFN exposed pad (7x7 mm) needs a solid thermal via array under the paddle to keep the junction below the 85°C ceiling.
