48-WQFN package and board integration
The LMK01000ISQ/NOPB comes in a 48-lead WFQFN with an exposed pad, supplier device package 48-WQFN (7x7 mm). The thermal pad on the underside must be soldered to a PCB copper pour for the rated junction-to-board thermal resistance — the datasheet's recommended footprint includes a 5x5 array of thermal vias under the pad.
1.6 GHz fanout and signal distribution
This is a fanout buffer and divider with a 2:8 input-to-output ratio, meaning two clock inputs can be fanned out to eight LVDS or LVPECL outputs. The maximum frequency of 1.6 GHz sets the upper bound for the clock distribution tree — above that the internal divider and output drivers cannot maintain the specified jitter and skew. The differential input and output path (Yes/Yes per the spec) means the device accepts and delivers differential signals, which rejects common-mode noise on long PCB traces.
Industrial temperature range and supply tolerance
The supply voltage window is tight at 3.15 V to 3.45 V — a 300 mV range — so the 3.3 V rail must be regulated within ±4.5 % to stay inside the absolute limits. The single-circuit design (one device per package) simplifies the power tree: one LDO or switcher per buffer, with local decoupling at the 48-WQFN pins.
Active lifecycle and sourcing
The base product number LMK01000 covers the family; the /NOPB suffix indicates lead-free (RoHS-compliant) plating.
