Quad CMOS op-amp with rail-to-rail output
The LMC6084AIM from Texas Instruments is a quad CMOS operational amplifier — four independent circuits in a single 14-SOIC package. It delivers a 1.3 MHz gain-bandwidth product and a 1.5 V/µs slew rate, enough for general-purpose signal conditioning, sensor buffering, and low-speed filter stages in mixed-signal designs. The output stage swings rail-to-rail, meaning the output can reach within millivolts of both supply rails — useful when driving an ADC input or when the supply headroom is tight. Each channel can source or sink 34 mA, enough to drive moderate loads directly.
Supply range and input characteristics
Operating from a single supply as low as 4.5 V up to 15.5 V, the LMC6084AIM fits 5 V, 12 V, and unipolar 15 V rails without a separate negative supply. The 0.01 pA typical input bias current suits high-impedance sources like photodiodes or pH probes, where even picoamp leakage would shift the DC operating point. Input offset voltage is 150 µV typical — adequate for precision DC measurement in the millivolt range. The CMOS input stage keeps the bias current negligible across the -40°C to 85°C industrial temperature range, so the error contribution from input bias stays well below the offset floor.
