I2C digital temperature sensor with programmable alert
The LM75BIMM-5/NOPB: It integrates an output switch, a programmable temperature limit, and a shutdown mode, so it can serve as a standalone overtemperature alert or a low-power thermal monitor that wakes the system only when the threshold is crossed. With a 9-bit resolution (0.5°C per LSB), the sensor provides adequate granularity for thermal management in industrial controllers, telecom equipment, and power supplies. The I2C interface allows multiple sensors on the same bus, and the open-drain OS output can be wire-ORed for shared interrupt lines.
Accuracy and temperature range for harsh environments
This meets the typical guard-band for thermal protection in outdoor telecom cabinets and industrial enclosures where ambient can swing from cold start to full-load heat soak. The -55°C to 125°C operating temperature covers the full industrial temperature grade, suitable for engine-bay or process-control environments.
Housed in an 8-TSSOP/MSOP package (3.00mm width) with the supplier device package designated as 8-VSSOP, the footprint occupies minimal board area. The 0.65mm pin pitch is routable on a two-layer board with basic trace-and-space rules. No exposed thermal pad is present; the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance is low enough for self-heating to be negligible at the 1.5 mA typical supply current.
The base product number is LM75, indicating a mature family with multiple temperature grades and package variants.
