Boost regulator with I²C dimming for camera flash
The LM3642TLX/NOPB is a synchronous boost DC-DC regulator designed specifically for LED camera flash applications, delivering up to 1.5 A per channel from a single lithium-ion cell. The 4 MHz switching frequency keeps the inductor small enough for the tight layout of a camera module PCB, and the 9-DSBGA package (1.6×1.6 mm) fits into the corner of a handset board where real estate is measured in square millimeters.
1.5 A flash current and thermal envelope
The internal switch handles the full 1.5 A peak current, so no external FET is needed — the bill of materials stays to one inductor, two capacitors, and the IC itself.
Fully RoHS3 compliant, with no exemptions expiring; the DSBGA package is lead-free and compatible with standard lead-free reflow profiles.
