Brushed DC driver with integrated power stage
The DRV8814PWPR is a fully integrated brushed DC motor driver from Texas Instruments, combining control logic and a Power MOSFET output stage in a single 28-PowerTSSOP package. Rated for 1.75 A continuous output current and an 8 V to 45 V supply range, it drives a single brushed DC motor through a half-bridge (4) configuration.
Package and board-fit for rework
Housed in a 28-lead PowerTSSOP with an exposed thermal pad (HTSSOP), the package is surface-mount and reworkable with standard hot-air equipment — the pad is large enough to wick solder from the side without lifting adjacent traces. The 0.65 mm pitch and visible pin-1 chamfer make alignment under a microscope straightforward; a low-temperature solder profile (peak ~240 °C) keeps the plastic body from delaminating during reflow.
