22-bit sigma-delta core with PGA in 28-SSOP
The ADS1213E is a 22-bit sigma-delta ADC from Texas Instruments, packaged in a 28-SSOP (0.209", 5.30mm width) surface-mount footprint. It integrates a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and a multiplexed front end for four differential inputs, all controlled over an SPI data interface. The 22-bit resolution and 6.25k samples-per-second conversion rate place it in the precision, moderate-speed class for sensor-conditioning and process-control loops.
Single 5V supply, external or internal reference
Both analog and digital supply rails are 5V, simplifying the power tree — no separate 3.3V or 1.8V rail is needed for the digital core. The reference can be driven externally or sourced from the internal reference, giving the board designer flexibility to match the full-scale range to the sensor output span.
