1500W bidirectional TVS in a DO-214AB package
The 1.5SMC200CAHM6G: Housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) package, this surface-mount diode is hand-solderable with a bit of care — the large tab wicks heat, so a hot-air station or a chisel tip at 350°C works well. The package footprint is standard for SMC, and the bidirectional configuration means no polarity worries during assembly.
Automotive-grade surge protection
AEC-Q101 qualification means this diode is tested for automotive reliability — temperature cycling, high-temperature reverse bias, and ESD robustness. The -55°C to 150°C operating range covers under-hood and cabin environments, with the 150°C junction limit giving headroom for engine-bay heat soak. The 5.7A peak pulse current at the 10/1000µs waveform is the current the diode can sink during a surge. For a 24V automotive system, a 171V standoff provides margin above load-dump transients, while the 274V clamp keeps the protected rail below typical MOSFET breakdown voltages.
