Automotive-grade TVS for 146V rail protection
The 1.5SMC180H: The 146V standoff means it sits across a nominal 120V or 144V DC bus without conducting in normal operation, only activating when the line exceeds the breakdown threshold.
Package and temperature envelope
Housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package, the 1.5SMC180H operates across -55°C to 150°C junction temperature — the full automotive temperature range. The SMC footprint provides adequate copper area for heat sinking during the 10/1000µs pulse; the junction-to-ambient thermal impedance determines how many pulses can be absorbed before derating is needed. It is a single unidirectional channel device — the cathode band identifies the anode-to-cathode orientation.
Sourcing and compliance posture
The AEC-Q101 qualification is the key compliance document for automotive buyers — it covers the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) requirements that tier-1 suppliers demand. Telecom applications are also listed, reflecting the 1500W pulse capability that suits central-office and base-station power feeds.
