Automotive-grade TVS for 128 V rail protection
The 1.5SMC150AHM6G: It is qualified to AEC-Q101, the automotive discrete semiconductor stress qualification standard, and carries an Automotive grade designation. The 1500 W rating means it can absorb high-energy surges typical in automotive load-dump and inductive-switching events without failing.
Package and board-fit details
The SMC footprint is standard for 1500 W TVS diodes and provides a large copper pad area under the cathode tab for heat sinking during the pulse. Operating temperature range spans -55°C to +150°C junction, covering the full automotive under-hood and cabin ambient envelope. Power line protection is not supported — this is a unidirectional device intended for signal or DC rail clamping, not AC mains.
AEC-Q101 qualification means the device has passed the full suite of automotive reliability tests: temperature cycling, high-temperature reverse bias, and electrostatic discharge sensitivity. This makes it suitable for safety-critical and long-life applications where failure in the field is not acceptable.
