Transient suppression ratings and the protection window
The 1.5KE8.2CA B0G: The 130A peak pulse current at the same waveform defines the maximum surge it can pass to ground. The protection window is set by three voltages: 7.02V reverse standoff (the DC bus level it blocks), 7.79V minimum breakdown (where clamping begins), and 12.1V maximum clamping at full Ipp — so a 5V or 12V rail with normal tolerance stays below the standoff, and transients are clipped before reaching downstream silicon.
Package, temperature range, and mounting
Housed in a DO-201AA / DO-27 axial-leaded package (supplier device package DO-201), the diode is through-hole mounted — suited for point-to-point wiring or PCB insertion where the leads are soldered or crimped into terminal blocks.
The bulk packaging (loose parts, not tape-and-reel) suits low-to-mid volume builds or repair stock.
