AEC-Q101 Zener TVS for 48V rail clamping
The 1.5KE56AHA0G: The 47.8 V reverse standoff voltage places it on a 48 V nominal rail — the 53.2 V minimum breakdown ensures the device stays transparent during normal operation and only conducts when the line exceeds the regulation window. Clamping is specified at 77 V maximum at the 20 A peak pulse current (10/1000 µs waveform). That 77 V ceiling protects downstream electronics rated for 80 V or higher — a common margin for automotive load-dump and inductive kickback events.
Rated for continuous junction operation from -55°C to 175°C. The 175°C Tj(max) is the standard for automotive-grade passives — it covers under-hood ambient plus self-heating from repetitive surge events without derating the peak pulse power. The 20 A Ipp at the 10/1000 µs waveform corresponds to a 1.5 kW peak pulse; repeated events at lower duty cycles are acceptable within the junction temperature envelope.
Taiwan Semiconductor continues to produce the 1.5KE series in the DO-201 package. The 1.5KE family is a standard JEDEC DO-201 package, so parametric equivalents from other AEC-Q101-qualified suppliers exist — confirm the standoff and clamping targets before substituting.
