Active production — small-signal Schottky for low-loss OR-ing and clamping
The RB715UMTL: The 370 mV forward drop at 1 mA keeps conduction loss under 0.4 mW per diode in a typical battery-powered sense line — the cheap diode costs you in losses, and this one keeps the bill low.
Package and thermal envelope — SC-85 / UMD3F
Housed in the SC-85 package, also designated UMD3F, this is a three-lead surface-mount package roughly 2.0 x 1.25 mm — the footprint fits under a small-signal transistor or a bypass cap on a dense PCB. Junction temperature is rated to 125°C max — the thermal limit for the application envelope; derate the 30 mA average current if the ambient near the diode exceeds 85°C in still air.
Leakage and reverse characteristics
Reverse leakage is 1 µA max at 10 V reverse — on a high-impedance ADC input or a battery-monitor divider, that leakage adds a 10 mV error across a 10 kΩ source; for a 1 MΩ source the error jumps to 1 V, so the node impedance must stay below 100 kΩ to keep the offset under 100 mV.
Compliance and sourcing
ROHS3 compliant — no exemptions needed for EU or California market access.
