Dual Schottky for OR-ing and rectification
The RB218NS-30TL pairs two 30V, 20A Schottky diodes in a common-cathode configuration, housed in a TO-263S (D2Pak) surface-mount package. This dual-diode layout is typical for OR-ing diodes in redundant power supplies, output rectification in low-voltage DC-DC converters, and reverse-polarity protection where two independent Schottky channels share a single cathode tab. Each diode delivers a forward voltage of 720 mV at 10 A, with reverse leakage held to 5 µA at 30 V.
Switching speed and recovery profile
Classified as a fast-recovery Schottky with recovery time under 500 ns at forward currents above 200 mA. In practice, Schottky diodes have negligible stored charge, so the recovery is dominated by junction capacitance discharge — this part suits switching frequencies up to several hundred kHz in continuous conduction mode without the reverse-recovery losses seen in ultrafast PN diodes.
