Dual Schottky in a through-hole full-pack
The RB088T-40NZC9: ROHM marks it as a super low IR device — leakage sits at 3 µA at the rated 40 V reverse, which keeps standby losses down in a power rail. It comes in a TO-220FN full-pack (TO-220-3) through-hole package. The fully moulded body isolates the tab from the heatsink electrically — no insulating pad needed, which simplifies mounting and cuts one assembly step.
Forward drop and recovery speed
Forward voltage is 770 mV maximum at 5 A forward current per diode. That is a moderate drop for a 40 V Schottky — the trade-off is the super low leakage at the reverse bias, so the diode runs cooler in a lightly loaded OR-ing or freewheeling application where the duty cycle keeps the forward current below the peak rating. Recovery speed is listed as fast recovery ≤500 ns at >200 mA forward current. For a Schottky this is the minority-carrier sweep-out time — the Schottky barrier itself has no stored charge, so the recovery is dominated by the junction capacitance discharge. The 500 ns ceiling is conservative; actual recovery in a 10 A rated part is typically under 100 ns.
