100V 10A common-cathode pair in TO-252
The RB088BM100TL: Each diode is rated for 10 A average rectified current with a 100 V reverse voltage maximum.
Forward voltage is specified at 870 mV maximum when carrying 5 A — this is the conduction loss floor for the 10 A rated diode when operated at half its rated current. Reverse leakage is held to 5 µA at the 100 V blocking voltage, which ROHM markets as 'super low IR' for this series. The 150°C maximum junction temperature sets the thermal derating boundary. In a TO-252 package with the exposed tab soldered to a copper plane, the thermal resistance to ambient typically runs 50–60°C/W; at 10 A continuous the forward drop at temperature will be higher than the 25°C typical, so the actual current derating depends on the board's ability to sink heat from the tab.
Fast recovery classification and switching behavior
The RB088BM100TL is classified as a fast recovery diode with recovery time under 500 ns at forward currents above 200 mA. This speed bracket suits it for 100–200 kHz switching power supplies and output rectification stages where a standard Schottky's lower Vf would be preferred but the reverse recovery charge of a PN diode would be too high. The common-cathode configuration shares the tab connection, so both diodes' cathodes are tied together at the package paddle. This simplifies layout for center-tapped secondary windings and boost converter output stages where the cathodes connect to the same output rail.
