8Kbit I²C EEPROM for parameter storage
The BR24T08FVM-WTR is a 8Kbit serial EEPROM from ROHM Semiconductor, organized as 1K x 8 bits and accessed via an I²C bus at up to 400 kHz. It stores configuration data, calibration constants, or device identity in a non-volatile memory that retains content through power cycles.
The 5 ms write cycle time per word or page means a full 8Kbit write takes roughly 640 ms at the page level — budget this into the firmware update sequence so the host does not time out the I²C transaction.
The surface-mount profile reflows on a standard lead-free solder profile; the small body saves board area in space-constrained designs like sensor modules or handheld instruments.
