RX231 core for sensor-rich control loops
The R5F52315CGFP#30 is a 32-bit RX231 MCU built around the RXv2 core running at 54 MHz — enough throughput for a mid-complexity control loop with sensor fusion, HMI, and fieldbus communication on a single chip. On-chip memory totals 128 KB flash for program storage, 32 KB RAM for data, and 8 KB dedicated EEPROM — the EEPROM block holds calibration constants and fault logs without wearing the flash. The 24-channel 12-bit ADC and dual 12-bit DAC cover analog front-end needs for current sensing, temperature monitoring, and analog output loops without external converters.
Peripheral set and connectivity
79 general-purpose I/O lines support a keypad matrix, character display, and multiple sensor interfaces without a port expander. Connectivity includes USB OTG for device/host mode, EBI/EMI for external SRAM or NOR flash, plus I²C, SPI, SCI, and IrDA for serial peripherals and wireless modules. On-chip peripherals include capacitive touch sensing for membrane-replacement buttons, DMA for memory-to-peripheral transfers without CPU load, PWM for motor or LED dimming, plus LVD, POR, and WDT for safe power-up and fault recovery.
Surface-mount only; supplied in tray format, so pick-and-place lines need a tray feeder or a tape-and-reel transfer.
