10Mbps optocoupler for industrial bus isolation
The FODM611 is a 1-channel optoisolator from onsemi that delivers 10Mbps data rate with 3750Vrms isolation — fast enough for Profibus, DeviceNet, and incremental encoder feedback, but not for Ethernet-based fieldbuses. The open-collector output with Schottky clamp lets it drive 5V CMOS or TTL logic directly, saving a pull-up resistor on the BOM.
20kV/µs CMTI for motor-drive and inverter noise
Minimum common-mode transient immunity of 20kV/µs means this part can sit on a 600V motor-drive phase leg or a servo drive without false triggering — a spec that matters when the isolation barrier sees fast voltage swings from IGBT switching. The 100ns max propagation delay keeps timing margin tight for high-speed digital inputs.
Industrial temperature range and package footprint
Rated -40°C to 85°C, the FODM611 covers factory-floor and outdoor cabinet environments. The 5-Mini-Flat package is a 6-SOIC footprint with 5 leads — 0.173-inch body width, 4.40mm height — which fits standard SOIC-6 land patterns. Supply voltage 4.5V to 5.5V aligns with 5V logic rails.
