ARM Cortex-M4 at 50 MHz — control-loop headroom for sensor fusion
The NXP MK20DX64VFT5 is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 microcontroller from the Kinetis K20 family, clocked at 50 MHz with 64 KB Flash and 16 KB RAM. This is the entry-density member of the K20 series, sized for single-loop control, sensor acquisition, and communication bridging without the overhead of a full RTOS. The 16-bit ADC with 11 channels gives it enough analog front-end for multi-sensor inputs — think temperature, pressure, and current monitoring on one die.

The 2 KB EEPROM on-chip stores calibration constants and fault logs without wearing the Flash. DMA, I²S, LVD, POR, PWM, and WDT peripherals are on board — the low-voltage detect and watchdog are useful for safety-critical applications that need supervised reset on brownout.
