Where it fits — industrial and communication roles
This MCU is built for applications that need a mix of real-time control and connectivity. The peripheral set includes Ethernet, two CAN interfaces, multiple UART/USART, SPI, I²C, USB (with OTG), and an external bus interface (EBI/EMI) for expanding memory or connecting FPGAs. The motor-control PWM and quadrature encoder interface (QEI) make it a candidate for servo drives or conveyor controls. Operating from -40 to 105 °C, it handles industrial enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, and engine-bay-adjacent electronics without derating.
Package and handling note
The 256-LBGA (17x17 mm) is a fine-pitch BGA — not a field-swap part without a reflow station. Plan for a controlled solder profile and X-ray inspection after assembly. The 164 I/O are distributed across the ball grid; verify the ball-out against your PCB layout before committing the board.
