7-bit digital temp monitor with I²C bus
The MIC284-0YMM-TR is a 7-bit digital temperature sensor from Microchip Technology that monitors both local and remote diode junctions, reporting temperature over an I²C/SMBus interface.
Programmable limit and standby for system monitoring
Built-in features include an output switch, programmable temperature limit, shutdown mode, and standby mode — the programmable limit can trigger an interrupt or fan control when a threshold is crossed, while standby drops quiescent current for battery-powered equipment. The remote sensing channel measures an external diode (typically a CPU or FPGA thermal diode) over the same -55°C to 125°C range, so a single part monitors both the board ambient and a hot die.
