Quad high-side switch with integrated protection
The MIC2507BM from Microchip Technology is a quad integrated high-side switch designed for general-purpose power distribution. It integrates four N-channel output stages, each capable of delivering up to 1A continuously, with a typical on-resistance of 120mOhm. The switch operates with a load voltage from 2.7V to 7.5V and does not require a separate Vcc supply for the control logic, simplifying the bias rail. The non-inverting On/Off interface accepts standard logic levels.
Protection and status features
Built-in fault protection includes adjustable current limiting and over-temperature shutdown, guarding the switch and downstream wiring against overloads and thermal runaway. A status flag output signals fault conditions to the host controller. Slew-rate controlled switching reduces inrush current and electromagnetic interference when driving capacitive loads, making the part suitable for hot-swap or port-power applications where soft-start is beneficial.
Package and temperature grade
The device is housed in a 14-lead SOIC package (0.154" body width, 3.90mm width) with a surface-mount footprint, supplied in Bulk. The supplier device package is designated 14-SOP.
Microchip Technology lists the MIC2507BM as Active in its current product portfolio. The part is marked RoHS non-compliant, so verify local regulatory requirements before specifying for new builds.
