Fixed 5V output, 150 mA LDO with 72 dB PSRR
The MCP1754ST-5002E/MB is a fixed 5V output LDO from Microchip Technology, delivering up to 150 mA with a maximum dropout of 0.5V at full load. Its 72 dB PSRR at 1 kHz means it attenuates upstream switching noise by that ratio — a 100 mV ripple on the input becomes roughly 25 µV at the output, which matters when the rail feeds an analog front-end or a precision reference. Operating across -40°C to 125°C, it suits industrial and automotive environments where the ambient temperature swings beyond the commercial range. The 16V maximum input gives headroom for 12V rails with transients, and the 90 µA quiescent current keeps the idle draw low in always-on systems.
SOT-89-3 package and board integration
The exposed tab on the backside carries the ground potential and should be soldered to a copper pour for thermal dissipation — at 150 mA the junction-to-ambient rise stays manageable with a 1-inch² pad per the typical layout. Protection features include over-current and over-temperature shutdown, so a short on the output or a stalled load won't cascade into a board failure. The fixed output eliminates the need for external resistor dividers — the 5V rail is ready from the first power-up.
ROHS3 compliant, so it passes the current EU restriction directive without exemption claims.
