In a battery-powered sensor node drawing 50 µA in sleep and waking to 200 mA bursts, the regulator's own overhead is a meaningful fraction of the sleep budget — factor it into the battery-life calculation, especially if the enable pin is not used to shut down the LDO during sleep.
Industrial temperature grade and built-in protections
This part is qualified for under-hood or outdoor enclosure use where ambient temperature cycles beyond the commercial 85°C ceiling. On-chip protection includes over-temperature shutdown, short-circuit current limit, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO). Supplied in an 8-VFDFN exposed-pad package (2 mm × 3 mm DFN, supplier device package 8-DFN). The exposed pad on the bottom is the primary thermal path — the PCB layout must include a thermal via array under the pad to the ground plane to keep junction temperature within limits at 500 mA output. The 0.5 mm pitch demands careful solder-paste stencil design for consistent reflow.
