MEMS resonator with HCSL output – what it replaces
The DSC1214CI3-C0020T is a MEMS-based oscillator from Microchip's DSC12X4 series, delivering an HCSL (High-Speed Current Steering Logic) differential output.
Runs from 2.25 V to 3.63 V, covering both 2.5 V and 3.3 V rails without a separate regulator. The ±20 ppm frequency stability holds across that temperature span, so a 100 MHz output (typical for PCIe) stays within the ±300 ppm total tolerance budget required by the PCIe Base Spec.
6-VDFN package – rework and layout notes
Housed in a 6-VDFN measuring 3.20 mm × 2.50 mm with a seated height of 0.90 mm. Under the hot-air station the small thermal mass reflows quickly – just preheat the board to 150°C and the part solders clean without cooking adjacent components.
