What this MEMS oscillator brings to the BOM
The DSC1201BA3-40M00000: Unlike quartz oscillators that drift with age and temperature, the MEMS resonator keeps the 40 MHz rail stable enough for CAN, Ethernet PHY, and general-purpose microcontroller clocks without external trimming. Supply voltage spans 2.25V to 3.63V, so it runs from a 2.5V or 3.3V rail without a separate regulator — one less part on the BOM.
It is qualified for ongoing production and new designs.
Standby power for battery-sensitive designs
Housed in a 6-VDFN package measuring 5.00mm x 3.20mm with a seated height of 0.90mm — a standard footprint that matches many quartz oscillator pads, easing drop-in replacement. Surface-mount assembly; the 0.90mm height keeps it under low-profile enclosures and mezzanine boards.
