20 MHz AVR core with 4 KB Flash — what it buys you
The Microchip ATTINY44-20SSU is an 8-bit AVR microcontroller from the ATtiny family, clocked at 20 MHz. It packs 4 KB of Flash program memory, 256 bytes of SRAM, and 256 bytes of EEPROM — enough for small control loops, sensor readout, and configuration storage without external memory. Twelve general-purpose I/O lines, an 8-channel 10-bit ADC, and an internal oscillator keep the BOM lean for applications like PWM dimming, battery monitoring, or simple keypad interfaces.
14-SOIC footprint and peripheral set
Housed in a 14-lead SOIC with 3.90 mm body width, the part uses a standard SOIC-14 land pattern — no fine-pitch routing required. On-chip peripherals include brown-out detection, power-on reset, PWM, and a watchdog timer, plus a Universal Serial Interface (USI) for basic I²C or SPI communication.
