The Microchip ATTINY212-SSFR is an 8-bit AVR microcontroller from the tinyAVR™ 1 series, rated for Functional Safety (FuSa) applications.
Memory and peripheral headroom
With 2 KB of Flash and 128 bytes of RAM, this is a code-tight part — expect to fit a single control loop, a state machine, and a communication stack. The 64 bytes of EEPROM give you nonvolatile storage for calibration constants or node ID without wearing the Flash. The 10-bit ADC has six channels; there's also one 8-bit DAC channel for analog output. For applications that need deterministic timing, the internal oscillator is factory-calibrated to ±2% accuracy at room temperature.
Functional Safety (FuSa) series — what it means
The tinyAVR™ 1 FuSa series includes hardware features to support safety-related designs: a watchdog timer with independent clock, brown-out detection, and a power-on reset. These blocks help meet diagnostic coverage requirements for IEC 61508 (industrial safety) or ISO 26262 (automotive functional safety) at the system level. The MCU itself is not certified, but the peripheral set is aligned with common safety architectures.
