Zener TVS for 48V rail clamping
Its 58.9V minimum breakdown voltage sets the threshold where the device starts conducting, and the 85.3V maximum clamp voltage limits the spike seen by the protected circuit.
With a 47.1V reverse standoff voltage, this TVS sits across a nominal 48V bus without conducting during normal operation. The 58.9V minimum breakdown gives a guard band of roughly 11V above the standoff, so line noise or mild overvoltage won't trigger false clamping. When the transient hits, the device clamps at 85.3V maximum while conducting 17.6A peak pulse current. That clamp voltage is the ceiling the downstream components must survive — if your 48V-rated capacitors or ICs have a 60V absolute max, this part's 85.3V clamp may exceed their rating, and you'd need a lower-clamp TVS or a secondary protection stage.
