500W bidirectional Zener TVS in an Axial leaded package
The 1N6114A: The 16.7V reverse standoff voltage (typ) and 30.5V clamping at 16.4A peak pulse current define the protection envelope for 12V or 15V rails where bidirectional clamping is needed.
Breakdown voltage minimum is 20.9V and clamping at 30.5V max – this sets the upper limit the protected circuit must survive. The 16.4A peak pulse current at the 10/1000µs waveform is the current the diode can sink without failing; a rail with lower surge impedance will see higher clamping, so the PCB trace and upstream fuse must handle that peak.
Active production – sourcing through authorized channels
The through-hole Axial package allows soldering into boards with high thermal mass or retrofit into existing designs.
