500W Zener TVS in a SQ-MELF body
The 1N6113AUS/TR is a bidirectional Zener TVS diode from Microchip, rated for 500W peak pulse power per the 10/1000µs waveform. It clamps at 27.7V max with a reverse standoff of 15.2V, protecting a 12V or 15V rail from transients. The SQ-MELF B package is surface-mount, but the cylindrical body needs careful pick-and-place alignment—it can roll on the pad if the nozzle isn't centred.
Breakdown, clamping, and standoff window
Minimum breakdown voltage is 19V, clamping max hits 27.7V at 18A peak pulse current. The 15.2V reverse standoff means this part sits on a 12V or 15V rail without conducting leakage until the transient exceeds 19V. That 4V margin between standoff and breakdown is typical for a Zener TVS—tight enough to protect sensitive downstream ICs without nuisance triggering on normal ripple.

Rework note on the MELF package
The SQ-MELF B package is a cylindrical body with metallised end caps. Under hot air, the part can shift if the nozzle flow is uneven—preheat the board from the back side and use a low-velocity nozzle to keep it seated. The end-cap solder joints are less inspectable than a gull-wing lead; a 45° X-ray angle helps confirm wetting on both terminations.
