Active production — 500 W axial TVS for 9 V rails
The 1N6108: Its 500 W peak pulse power rating at 10/1000 µs waveform handles surges on 9 V DC rails — the reverse standoff voltage is 9.1 V, so the part stays out of conduction during normal operation. Breakdown starts at a minimum of 10.83 V, and clamping is specified at 17.75 V maximum at the 28.12 A peak pulse current. That 7 V window between standoff and clamp gives the downstream circuit a defined voltage ceiling during a transient event.
Temperature range and package — through-hole, 175°C junction
The axial B package is a through-hole leaded form factor — it mounts into a PCB hole and is wave-soldered, common in power supplies, motor drives, and control panels where board-level rework is routine. For manual assembly or low-volume builds, bulk is straightforward.
