The 1N6105AUS is a bidirectional Zener TVS diode rated for 500 W peak pulse power per the 10/1000 µs waveform. The 6.9 V reverse standoff and 13.4 V clamping voltage at 37.3 A define the protection window for a 5 V or 6 V rail — the TVS triggers before downstream parts see overvoltage, and the clamp holds the transient below the rail's absolute maximum. The single bidirectional channel means one device clamps both polarities, saving board space on AC-coupled or bipolar signal lines where two unidirectional parts would otherwise be needed.
Hermetic package and 175°C junction rating
The SQ-MELF (B, SQ-MELF) package is a hermetic ceramic body — the glass-passivated junction is sealed against moisture and corrosive atmospheres. This makes the 1N6105AUS a natural fit for avionics, downhole, or military-communication boards where conformal coat alone is not enough. The 175°C ceiling gives headroom in high-ambient enclosures or when the TVS is placed near hot power devices; derating the peak pulse power above 25°C follows the standard thermal profile.
