Active production — still a current BOM line
The 1N4744PE3/TR12: This is a current-production part that can be specified into new designs or replenished for existing boards without a substitution headache.
15 V regulation at 1 W — the thermal budget
Nominal Zener voltage is 15 V at the test current, with a ±10% tolerance window (13.5 V to 16.5 V). For a 15 V rail, the maximum steady-state Zener current before hitting the power limit is roughly 66 mA; derate above 25°C per the standard thermal derating curve for the DO-41 package.
DO-204AL axial — through-hole, tape-and-reel ready
Supplied in the DO-204AL (DO-41) axial-lead package, through-hole mount. The Tape & Reel (TR) format suits automated insertion — the leads are formed for radial or axial feed depending on the insertion head. The 14 Ohms max Zzt impedance at the Zener test current means the dynamic resistance is low enough that the regulation voltage shifts less than 140 mV per 10 mA of load current change.
Leakage and forward characteristics
Reverse leakage is specified at 5 µA max at 11.4 V reverse voltage — roughly 76% of the nominal Zener voltage, so the diode stays well below the avalanche knee in the off state. Forward voltage is 1.2 V max at 200 mA forward current, giving a usable rectifier-mode drop if the circuit uses the diode in a clamping or protection role.
