15 V rail regulation — the parametric fit
The 1N4744AG: Nominal Zener voltage is 15 V at ±5% tolerance, meaning the regulation knee lands between 14.25 V and 15.75 V — tight enough to clamp a 15 V supply rail without pulling the load below the minimum operating voltage. Rated for 1 W continuous power dissipation in the DO-41 axial package; at 15 V that translates to roughly 66 mA of Zener current before the die temperature climbs past the safe operating area at 25 °C ambient. Maximum impedance (Zzt) is 14 Ohms at the test current — a relatively low dynamic resistance for a 1 W device, which keeps the voltage regulation tight across the Zener current range.
Temperature range and reverse leakage — bench limits
Operating junction temperature spans -65 °C to +175 °C, a full military-grade range that covers cold-soak avionics and hot engine-bay environments without derating the power dissipation below the 1 W ceiling.
Supplied in Bulk packaging per the standard DO-41 tape-and-ammo or loose-tube format; the axial leads are tin-plated for solderability and RoHS compliance is declared by the manufacturer.
