Single-wire vs I²C — what the interface means for your BOM
Unlike the I²C-based 24LC01BHT-I/MNY, which needs two bus lines (SCL + SDA) plus pull-up resistors, the 11LC010T-I/MNY uses a single data line. That saves one GPIO and one resistor per device, which matters when you're squeezing a config store into a 6-pin MCU or a sensor module with no spare pins. The trade-off is a lower clock rate — 100 kHz versus 400 kHz on the I²C sibling — so it's fine for occasional reads of calibration data or serial numbers, but not for streaming logs.
Package and footprint — 8-TDFN (2x3 mm)
Housed in an 8-WFDFN exposed-pad package (supplier device package 8-TDFN, 2x3 mm), this part is surface-mount only. Hand-soldering is possible with a fine-tip iron and flux, but a hot-air station or reflow profile is more reliable for the small pad pitch.
