The TPST225M016R2000: The 2 Ohm ESR is typical for a standard tantalum in this capacitance/voltage range; it keeps self-heating manageable under ripple current but means the capacitor is not a first choice for high-frequency bypass — that job stays with MLCCs. Operating from -55°C to 125°C covers industrial enclosures and under-hood automotive ambient; the molded package resists moisture and mechanical stress better than a conformal-coated chip.
Active production — no lifecycle worry
The TPS series is a standard low-ESR tantalum family with broad second-source coverage — if you need a backup, the 2.2 µF / 16 V / 1210 footprint is widely available across multiple manufacturers.
