Temperature range and what it means for the BOM
The TPST106K010R2000: Rated -55°C to 125°C operating range — that is the full industrial/military temperature band. A power rail on a motor drive seeing 105°C ambient still has 20°C of headroom before the cap leaves its rated envelope. The 2 Ohm ESR at 25°C rises with temperature; for a 10 µF part, that ESR keeps the ripple current capability around 200-300 mA RMS depending on ambient, which covers most local decoupling duties on a mixed-signal board.
Case size and rework reality
That is a common tantalum footprint; the rework station profile for a 1210 part is straightforward with standard hot-air tweezers. The molded construction means the epoxy body is less brittle than conformal-coated tantalums, so tombstoning risk during reflow is lower, but the part still needs the standard moisture bake if the reel seal is broken.
The TPS series is KYOCERA AVX's standard low-ESR molded tantalum family, so second-source equivalents from Kemet or Vishay exist in the same 1210 footprint, though the exact ESR and ripple ratings vary.
