Molded tantalum in a 1206 footprint
Housed in a standard 1206 (3216 Metric) case, it measures 3.20 mm x 1.60 mm with a seated height of 1.80 mm, fitting existing PCB layouts for 10 µF tantalum capacitors. Its 1.8 Ohm equivalent series resistance (ESR) is the key loss parameter: it determines the ripple current the capacitor can handle before self-heating degrades reliability, especially in power rail filtering or decoupling roles.
The molded construction provides mechanical protection and moisture resistance, but the part is not AEC-Q100 qualified — for automotive PPAP, confirm the specific qualification level with the manufacturer.
