3 Ω ESR — the spec that decides ripple survival
This TPSA105M035R3000 is a 1 µF, 35 V molded tantalum capacitor with a 3 Ω ESR. The ESR is the limiting factor for AC ripple current: at any given frequency, the self-heating is I² × ESR. A 3 Ω ESR means the ripple current rating is lower than a low-ESR tantalum of the same capacitance — budget the ripple current against the 3 Ω figure, not the capacitance alone.
