220 µF bulk cap with a wide temperature ceiling
The TAJW227M004RNJ: This is a 220 µF molded tantalum capacitor rated at 4 V with a 1.2 Ohm ESR — a general-purpose bulk-decoupling or hold-up cap for moderate-ripple rails. The 2312 (6032 Metric) case measures 6.00 mm x 3.20 mm with a seated height of just 1.50 mm — low enough to fit under a board shield or on a tight mezzanine stack.
At 1.2 Ohm ESR, this cap is not a low-ESR type — it is a mid-range general-purpose part. For a 100 kHz ripple current of, say, 500 mA, the self-heating from ESR dissipation is roughly 0.3 W, which is manageable in the 2312 case as long as the ambient stays within the -55°C to 125°C window. If your rail has high-frequency switching ripple above 1 A RMS, step up to a low-ESR (0.1–0.3 Ohm) polymer or multi-anode tantalum.
