Molded tantalum for tight board layouts
The molded case gives consistent dimensions and a flat top for pick-and-place nozzles, and the W case code – 6.00 mm × 3.20 mm footprint, 1.50 mm seated height – fits under low-profile enclosures or between tall components. Rated 15 µF at 16 V with ±10% tolerance, it handles bulk decoupling on a 12 V rail or 5 V rail with margin. The 700 mOhm ESR is the figure to budget for ripple current: at 100 kHz, the self-heating limit is roughly the square of the ripple current times ESR, so keep the RMS ripple below about 300 mA to stay within the 125°C ceiling.
The 125°C upper limit is the case temperature; derate the applied voltage above 85°C per the TAJ series application note to avoid surge failures.
The Tape & Reel package ships in standard reel quantities compatible with automated placement.
