100 µF, 10 V molded tantalum — the bulk decoupling fit
The TAJW107M010RNJ is a 100 µF, 10 V molded tantalum capacitor from the KYOCERA AVX TAJ series, in a 2312 (6032 Metric) surface-mount package with size code W. For a 10 V rail with 20% margin, the 10 V rating is adequate for 8 V or lower supplies; above that, a 16 V or 25 V part is safer.
The 2312 molded case is a solid tantalum — no electrolyte to boil, but the epoxy body absorbs moisture. Bake at 125°C for 24 hours before reflow if the part has been exposed to ambient humidity beyond the floor-life window. The 1.50 mm seated height leaves clearance under most reflow nozzles. Orientation is marked by a polarity stripe on the anode end — the cathode is the unmarked end. Reversing the voltage on a tantalum can cause a short-circuit failure with flame, so double-check the silkscreen before placement.
