Supply rail and clock — integration into a 3.3V system
The supply range of 2.7V to 3.6V aligns directly with standard 3.3V logic rails, so no level shifters are needed on the SPI bus when the host MCU or SoC also runs at 3.3V. At 133 MHz, the Quad I/O interface reads four bits per clock cycle, which reduces the number of wait states during firmware execution-in-place (XIP). The flash wait-state configuration on the host side should account for the 133 MHz clock period of roughly 7.5 ns to avoid bus timing violations.
Housed in a 16-SOIC wide package (7.50 mm body width), the S25FL256SAGMFIG10 uses the standard SOIC-16 wide footprint common to many NOR Flash parts. The surface-mount package is compatible with reflow soldering and does not require an exposed thermal pad, simplifying PCB layout.
