66 MHz Quad I/O — what the bus timing means
The 66 MHz clock rate with Quad I/O reads four bits per cycle, so the effective data rate is 264 Mbps (33 MB/s) in fast-read mode. That matters for firmware boot times and OTA update windows — a 16 MB image reads in about half a second at this rate. The SPI interface keeps pin count low on the host MCU, and the Quad I/O mode is supported by most modern ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V parts without glue logic.
