108 MHz Quad-SPI — the throughput decision
The 108 MHz clock on the Quad I/O interface translates to a theoretical read throughput of about 54 MB/s in quad mode. That is enough to feed a Cortex-M4 or M7 core executing from XIP (execute-in-place) without stalling on instruction fetches for most control-loop and UI workloads. The 3 ms page write time is typical for this NOR generation — fine for configuration storage, but not a candidate for high-frequency data logging where you would want a faster write cycle or a serial NAND.
